IIM Sambalpur has successfully organised its first HR Conclave ‘Marmagya 2017’ on 20th February 2017 at Hotel Niiki. The event has witnessed an active interaction between prominent industry practitioners and potential future managers.
Themed “Disruptive Environment, Dynamic HR”, this annual conclave included panel discussions on ‘Gender Bias’ and ‘Innovative HR Practices’.
The event also witnessed the book launch of ‘Reality Bytes’ by Aparna Sharma, one of the panelists and the launch of IIM Sambalpur’s maiden newsletter.
The panel discussion on ‘Gender Bias’ enlightened the participants on the prominence of equal participation of every gender to uproot gender bias inside an organization as well as within the society. Aparna Sharma, Independent Director, T. S Alloys Ltd., Priyadarshini Bharath, Global HR Director, Softura, Harikrushna Sarvaiya, HR Business Partner, Relaince Broadcast Network Limited, and Cyril S Thomas were the panelists for the panel discussion on ‘Gender Bias’.
Panel discussion on ‘Innovative HR Practices’ highlighted the current innovative HR Practices such as social hiring, gamification of hiring process, importance of automated HR practices, etc.Adhiraj Dey, VP – CHR, Blue OmniChannel India, Ravikumar KY, GM HR, Nagarjuna Oil Corporation Limited, Jana Venkata Ramakrishna, Multi Property – Director of HR, Marriott International,RakeshPratap Singh, GM – ER, Hindalco Industries Limited, Harikrushna Sarvaiya, and Cyril S Thomas were the panelists for the panel discussion on ‘Innovative HR Practices’.MrVivek G Nair, a third year FPM participant pursing PhD in OrganiationalBehaviour from IIM Calcutta had acted as the moderator for both the panel discussions.
The panel discussions and interaction with the panelists enlightened and inspired the students. Questions raised by the participants were duly addressed by the respective panelists. The Conclave effectively served a channel transmitting industry-level practices to young management enthusiasts.
