Nestled alongside the Mahanadi River in the culturally rich region of Western Odisha, IIM Sambalpur thrives on its commitment to cultivating responsible leaders with entrepreneurial mindsets. Since its inception in 2015 — with the foundation stone laid and the Institute inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi — IIM Sambalpur has grown rapidly into one of India's most dynamic and future-oriented management institutes. Our flagship offerings, including the MBA, MBA in Business Analytics, B.S. programmes (Data Science & AI, and Management & Public Policy), Executive MBA, PhD, PhD for Working Professionals, and the dual-degree Executive PhD & DBA programme, are designed to nurture adaptability, innovation, and responsible leadership. The Working Professional Programme and a range of specialized Management Development Programmes further equip both emerging and experienced professionals with practical, current skills. IIM Sambalpur is also among the first institutions to introduce five pioneering initiatives: the Master Weaver entrepreneurship development programme, gender inclusiveness measures, AI-enabled classroom learning, dual-degree PhD/DBA programmes, and a Bachelor of Science degree.

The Institute has pioneered digital classrooms, flipped-classroom pedagogy, and AI-enabled learning approaches, building a modern and interactive education ecosystem. This is complemented by the I-Hub Centre, our incubation and entrepreneurship platform, which supports start-ups and innovators in turning ideas into business ventures. A strong emphasis on experiential learning engages students in live industry projects, entrepreneurial initiatives, and collaborative research, sharpening their capabilities as empathetic leaders and creative problem-solvers. IIM Sambalpur has also signed several international MoUs with leading academic institutions worldwide, supporting collaborative research, student exchange, and cross-cultural learning.
