Shared Space and Social Gathering Guidelines

When using shared spaces on the IIM Sambalpur campus, all students, participants, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests are expected to exercise good judgment and take responsibility for their conduct. All gatherings must be conducted in a manner that respects the Institute community, campus property, and the academic environment.

The following guidelines apply to the use of shared spaces, including residence hall common areas, lounges, courtyards, outdoor areas, and other designated community spaces.

Residence Hall Living Group Lounges

  • Residence hall lounges and common areas may be used for small gatherings, subject to availability and the applicable hostel/residential guidelines.

  • Participants are responsible for maintaining cleanliness during and after the gathering. All food waste, disposable items, bottles, cans, cups, and other waste must be properly disposed of in the designated waste-disposal facilities.

  • Participants will be responsible for any damage to Institute property caused by them or by their guests.

  • Institute authorities, security personnel, hostel administration, or other authorized personnel reserve the right to stop, restrict, or disperse a gathering if it is found to be causing disturbance, posing a safety or security risk, exceeding the permitted capacity, or violating Institute rules.

Shared Spaces and Outdoor Areas
