Academic Profile

Dr. Aarti Singh is an Assistant Professor at IIM Sambalpur, India, with a distinguished background in strategy and sustainability. She holds a Ph.D. in Strategy Management from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. Dr. Singh has also completed the 42nd Faculty Development Programme at IIM Ahmedabad, focusing on "Pedagogy and Research Methods," and the Faculty Development Programme at IIM Indore, specializing in "Workshop on Case Method: Teaching, Writing & Simulation." These programs have equipped her with advanced skills and insights into effective teaching methodologies, case writing, and simulation techniques, enhancing her ability to contribute meaningfully to academic and professional environments.

Before joining IIM Sambalpur, Dr. Singh worked at FORE School of Management, New Delhi, where she served as Area Chair of Strategy. She has also been a Senior Research Fellow and Research Scholar at the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi. Dr. Singh has organized an international workshop in system dynamics and earned certificates in "Student Assessment and Evaluation; Communication Skills Modes & Knowledge Dissemination" from NITTTR.

Her research has been published in leading international journals and books, including Benchmarking, Management of Environmental Quality: An International Journal, Sustainability, Operational Research in Engineering Sciences: Theory and Application, Taylor & Francis Group, CRC Press, and The Palgrave Handbook of Global Sustainability in Springer Nature, U.S.A. She has presented her research at numerous prestigious conferences, such as GLOGIFT 16 at UTS Business School, University of Technology, Sydney, the 2nd Asia-Pacific System Dynamics Conference in Singapore, AGBA, and various international conferences in India.

Notable contributions include her works "Global Value Chains, Flexibility, and Sustainability," selected for the Book Series on Flexible Systems Management, published by Springer, "Stakeholder Role for Developing a Conceptual Framework of Sustainability in Organizations," published in Sustainability, "Developing a Conceptual Framework of Waste Management in the Organizational Context," and "Deriving Hierarchical Relationship of Factors of Fly Ash Handling," published in Management of Environmental Quality.

Dr. Singh's research interests include Strategy, Business Resilience, Business Sustainability, Business System Dynamics, and Strategic Waste Management. Her consulting interests cover Business Resilience, Digital Transformation, Strategic Innovation Management, Sustainable Business, and Organisational Waste Management. She has received a fellowship from the Research Promotional Fund at IIT Delhi and has qualified for GATE in 2009, alongside being awarded various scholarships and certificates for her academic achievements. Dr. Singh's career goals focus on advancing strategic sustainable research and working as a dedicated researcher. Her specialties encompass strategic management, sustainable development, waste management, corporate strategy, systems thinking, and system dynamics.
