Academic Profile
Dr. Janvi Patel is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and earned her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. Her academic journey combines professional expertise in strategic management with a strong commitment to entrepreneurship research and education.
Her research primarily focuses on rural entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. She is particularly interested in understanding how entrepreneurship can address socio-economic challenges, promote inclusive development, and contribute to sustainable livelihoods. Her work adopts interdisciplinary perspectives and employs both ethnography and action research methodologies to examine entrepreneurship across diverse institutional and socio-economic contexts.
Her research has been presented at leading international conferences and published in reputed peer-reviewed journals. She is actively engaged in developing evidence-based insights that bridge theory, practice, and policy, with a special emphasis on entrepreneurship in emerging economies.

Training & Consultancy
Dr. Janvi conducts executive education programmes, faculty development programmes, and management development programmes in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, strategic management, social entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
She is interested in collaborating with government agencies, public sector organizations, start-ups, non-governmental organizations, development institutions, and corporate organizations on training, research, and consultancy projects related to entrepreneurship development, innovation strategy, rural development, women entrepreneurship, and sustainable enterprise creation. She also undertakes consulting assignments involving entrepreneurial ecosystem development, policy research, qualitative research, and capacity-building initiatives.
