Academic Profile

Dr. Sujit Kumar Pruseth did his MA, M.Phil., and PhD in Political Science from JNU, New Delhi, and also completed a certificate course on Preparing a Multidimensional Poverty Index from the University of Oxford. He has been a regular faculty member at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NIRF: 1), and has also served as a Visiting Faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (NIRF: 6). He has been trained by UN-HABITAT at Haifa, Israel. He has served as a Member of the Expert Committee of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Kerala. He has also been the Programme Director for a series of Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for scientists of the Government of India, as well as the Programme Director of an Advanced Programme for senior officials of the Government of India and officials of the Indian Armed Forces. He has been on deputation to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. He has undertaken several research and consultancy projects for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Urban Affairs, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, and UNDP. Some of his acclaimed books include Democratic Governance or Member Control, Public Policy: Issues in Governance Reforms, Governance and Development (IGNOU), and Valour in Veins. He also writes regular columns in leading English national dailies.
