MBA for Working Professionals

A two-year MBA for working professionals, executives and entrepreneurs, delivered on weekends at the IIM Sambalpur Delhi Centre.

Admission & Eligibility

Eligibility Conditions

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • At least 3 years of full-time managerial/professional experience after the Bachelor's degree, as of the application deadline.
  • Open to all nationalities.
  • Seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD/EWS candidates per Government of India rules.

Selection Process

Self-Financed Candidates: Eligible candidates are called for a Personal Interview (PI); the Admissions Committee determines the shortlist in consultation with the Competent Authority. A No-Objection Certificate/Consent Letter from the current employer is required.

Industry-Sponsored Candidates: The sponsored candidate must have at least 2 years' service with the sponsoring organisation at the time of admission. Selection is primarily interview-based, with a letter from the sponsoring company required; sponsored admits follow the same rules as regular admits.

Statement of Purpose (SOP)

An SOP of up to 2,000 words covering career path, interests, professional contributions, goals and motivation for pursuing the programme.

Personal Interview

Shortlisted candidates appear before a selection panel that assesses managerial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset.

Merit List

Weightage: Personal Interview 60%, Academic Performance 10%, Diversity 10%, SOP & Career Objectives 20%.

IIM Sambalpur reserves the right to modify admission criteria and cut-offs until the admission process for the batch is complete. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Sambalpur.
